The Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC) cordially invites to you to register and attend the 2021 P2 West: Inspiration, Innovation & Implementation Pollution Prevention Conference. Due to continued COVID-19 concerns, the conference will be held virtually on consecutive Wednesdays and Thursdays – Oct 20, 21, 27, and 28, from 10:00 – 2:30 PT, with a half-hour break at noon.

To remain true to the Pollution Prevention Act and its legacy of source reduction, this conference aims to inspire innovative approaches to finding upstream P2 solutions to the environmental challenges facing our nation. To learn about some of these approaches, you’ll hear from your colleagues on how they successfully reduced or eliminated the creation of pollutants in areas involving environmental justice, emerging pollutants, adoption of Safer Choice products, Green Business Program development and implementation, and many more. You’ll also hear from EPA about its P2 goals, including its current work addressing the five National Emphasis Areas (NEAs): 1) Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Processing, 2) Chemical Manufacturing, Processing and Formulation, 3) Automotive Manufacturing and Maintenance, 4) Aerospace Product and Parts Manufacturing and Maintenance, and 5) Metal Manufacturing and Fabrication.

Because the emergence of Environmental Justice has become a priority for many environmental programs across the country, the members of the Advisory Committee have made a concerted effort to include environmental justice issues throughout many of the sessions. Environmental justice has been and continues to be a cornerstone of programs of the environmental agencies throughout the western United States.
