Session: Alternative Fuels

Overcoming the Economic Barriers to Using Hydrogen as an Alternative Fuel

Peter A. Jeschke, MEI Power Corporation
Abstract:
Switching to Hydrogen as an energy carrier would reduce pollution. However, Hydrogen must compete with cheap and plentiful fossil fuel. Using examples of actual power generation projects in development, it will be shown how Hydrogen can compete with fossil fuels if a value is placed on the normally wasted by-products of Hydrogen production.
