Automotive P2 Practices Jump Into Curriculum

This presentation will highlight to curriculum projects that have developed from implementation of best management practices for an automotive facility at a community college auto shop. Summaries of the curriculum projects are:

"Proper Automotive Waste Management", a curricular unit.
This is curriculum designed for high schools, ROPs, and community colleges. It is divided into three parts. The Resource Manual will give an instructor the background information to teach environmental understanding and waste management. The Instructor's Guide has PowerPoint presentations, transparency masters, guides for the student activities, and a test question bank. The Student Workbook has a course outline, presentation notes, and activity sheets (both cognitive and hands-on).


"Pollution Prevention Training for Automotive Facilities", an online course.
This online course is intended to instruct the student in proper ways to manage hazardous wastes generated by an automotive repair facility. The course is divided into three modules. Module 1 deals with the concepts of pollution prevention. Module 2 covers the waste streams inherent to automotive repair facilities. Module 3 requires each student to develop and perform an environmental audit of an automotive repair facility.
