Abstract: Maine DEP sponsored a study assessing the availability of safer alternatives to the use of decaBDE in plastic shipping pallets. Pure Strategies (consultant) and pallet manufacturers, along with the state, conducted the study, which included functionality and physical property & fire testing as well as reduced environmental impact of any alternative flame retardants.
