Doctors, Children's Advocates, Public Health Organizations and Hospitals Announce Support for (IL) Governor's Mercury Pollution Reduction Plan [PDF]
Abstract: A strong coalition of doctors, children's advocates, public health organizations and hospitals have commended Illinois Governor Blagojevich's new mercury pollution reduction plan and announced their support. They then called on the CEOs of companies owning Illinois coal plants to reduce the mercury pollution from their coal plants by 90 percent by June 30, 2009 as provided in the Governor's plan. Abstract: This portion of the Environmental Law and Policy Center web site provides details on Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's Mercury Pollution Reduction Plan, which proposes standards to require coal fired power plants to reduce mercury pollution by 90% or more by June 30, 2009.
