Abstract: An organization that focuses on "toxic trade" (trade in toxic wastes, toxic products, and toxic technologies) and its impact on global environmental justice. The organization sponsors an "E-Stewards Pledge Program," promoting electronics recyclers that do not export or dump their waste and do not use prison labor. The Basel ban effectively banned (as of January 1998) all forms of hazardous waste exports from the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries to all non-OECD countries.
