The authors of this topic hub would like to extend a special thanks to all
contributors who helped make this product technically accurate and a credible
resource. The hub was developed after a survey of high school agricultural education
programs identified deficiencies with current practices in pollution prevention
and waste management in teaching labs. The study, entitled Pollution Prevention
in Agricultural Education Laboratories and Field Areas, was of Montana
educators, however, further references showed that it was common situation in
agricultural teaching programs throughout the U.S. "Lack of knowledge"
was the primary barrier identified by survey respondents to practicing and improving
pollution prevention in teaching areas with "further education" designated
as the primary need. A self-audit
tool was developed to assist educators and this hub was created to give
pollution prevention service providers the information they need to offer technical
assistance. E. Joanne Wilke Nancy Lepo Brad King Laura Estes The links in this topic hub are checked during the first week of each month.Technical Reviewers
